If the tempo is hard to keep throughout the track, set your metronome to a slower pace and slowly increase the b.p.m. Over time, you’ll build enough strength in your picking hand where you increase the tempo even further than the 156 b.p.m. that the song is set to.

To get a close resemblance to the original tone you’ll need the following:

1. A tight down picking technique which Slayer is well known for. This is of the utmost importance, to make the tone sound good.
2.  Marshall JCM 800 2203 helps, but there are a lot of VST’s you can find that will provide a great distortion tone.
